Upright meaning
Something has run its course, and holding it in place costs more than letting it close. That might be a role, a routine, or a particular version of a relationship. Endings under this card rarely arrive out of nowhere; they surface a process that has been underway for a while. Grieve what deserves grieving, then choose deliberately what travels with you into the next phase.
Reversed meaning
You can see the ending clearly and still cannot loosen your grip. A connection that cooled months ago stays technically alive; a method that stopped working stays in place because it is familiar. Fear of the gap between chapters is understandable, though the waiting drains something too. Clearing one small piece at a time makes the larger transition land more gently.
Love & relationships
The shape of the relationship changes. Sometimes that means parting, and often it means old expectations dissolve and something more honest takes their place. Trying to restore an earlier version usually costs more than meeting what exists now.
